November 13th 2001 – De Montfort Hall

Fun Lovin’ Criminals were a band from New York City and a musical conundrum. Their music was eclectic to say the least. One minute you would be bouncing to a rock song, the next you could have sat in a corner and gone to sleep!
There was rock ,there was roll, funk, jazz, hip hop, blues….and more.
The band at the time were:
- Huey Morgan, Vocals and guitar
- Brian “Fast” Leiser, bass and keyboards
- Maxwell Jayson, Drums
They had 3 albums out by now, Come Find Yourself (1996), 100% Colombian (1998) and Loco (2001)
The balcony was a strange place to watch a gig from, but often downstairs would have sold out. I would often sit up here and pop down for a little while, sneaking past door staff (or often being allowed to sneak in knowing Mrs Mason on the door 😉 I was at this gig with her son and great friend Dean and actually this was a gig you didn’t need to be bouncing to very often, so a seat was very welcome.
Don’t recall a great deal of this gig, but it would have been very enjoyable and FLC ploughed through the hits from 3 albums.
